Our Mission
The mission of the Southern University Alumni Federation-Fort Worth Chapter is to cultivate an inclusive alumni community that actively supports, engages, and conects with future, current, and graduate students, as well as dedicated supporters of the Southern University System. Through intentional programming, scholarship, mentorship, and service, we seek to uplift the Jaguar legacy in the Fort Worth region and beyond.

Our vision is to create a thriving alumni network that provides access, opportunity, and lifelong connection, equipping Southern University students and graduates to excel in a diverse, global, and knowledge-based society from Fort Worth and the surrounding areas.
Our History
The Southern University Alumni Federation—Fort Worth Chapter was officially chartered in 2019 to serve as the home for Jaguar pride in Tarrant County and the greater Fort Worth area. Established by a passionate group of Southern University graduates, the chapter was created to strengthen the bond between alumni and their alma mater while supporting the next generation of Jaguars.
Since its founding, the Fort Worth Chapter—affectionately known as FWJags—has focused on scholarship, service, and student engagement. From awarding scholarships to local high school seniors to hosting recruitment events and community gatherings, the chapter is dedicated to uplifting Southern University students and alumni alike.
As a proud part of the Southern University Alumni Federation, the Fort Worth Chapter continues to grow its footprint in North Texas, creating a lasting legacy of Jaguar excellence while fostering connections that span generations. Through mentorship, community service, and alumni networking, FWJags remains committed to supporting our beloved Southern University and investing in the leaders of tomorrow.
