Our History

The Southern University Alumni Federation—Fort Worth Chapter was officially chartered in 2019 to serve as the home for Jaguar pride in Tarrant County and the greater Fort Worth area. Established by a passionate group of Southern University graduates, the chapter was created to strengthen the bond between alumni and their alma mater while supporting the next generation of Jaguars.

Since its founding, the Fort Worth Chapter—affectionately known as FWJags—has focused on scholarship, service, and student engagement. From awarding scholarships to local high school seniors to hosting recruitment events and community gatherings, the chapter is dedicated to uplifting Southern University students and alumni alike.

As a proud part of the Southern University Alumni Federation, the Fort Worth Chapter continues to grow its footprint in North Texas, creating a lasting legacy of Jaguar excellence while fostering connections that span generations. Through mentorship, community service, and alumni networking, FWJags remains committed to supporting our beloved Southern University and investing in the leaders of tomorrow.
